Preparation: Lemon balm extract is obtained from comminuted herb of melissa by extraction with certain solvents.
Appearance: Brown powder
Content of active ingredients: The Extract contains not less than 3% flavones or 5% rosmarinic acid. Or also 10:1 concentrate ratio powder.
Concentrate ratio: The ratio of starting crude plant material to Extract is between 10 and 15 .
Water: not more than 5.0%
Total ash: not more than 5%
Studies of the product: Lemon balm has been used for problems (insomnia), nervousness, and for stomach problems. Lemon balm extract is claimed to have , properties (it is effective against ), and it is also used as a mild sedative or calming agent. At least one study has found it to be effective at reducing stress, although the study's authors call for further research. Its antibacterial properties have also been demonstrated scientifically, although they are markedly weaker than those from a number of other plants studied
