Starch
Modified cornstarch is a cornstarch substitute, wherein the powder is treated with
a number of chemicals and enzymes to change its chemical properties to such
an extent wherein it can tolerate more heat and act as a more stable thickening
agent. Modified cornstarch replaces cornstarch to improve the quality of thickening
that one expects in the recipe.
Application of modified corn starch
1. Application in food, used as Thickening agent, gelling agent, Binder and stabilizer. the
modified corn starch is widely used in rice products, milk products, meat and ham, baked
foods, beverages, candy, frozen foods, Puffed foods
2. Application in oil drilling, used as slurry stabilizer and Water retaining agent
3. Application in paper industry, used as surface sizing agent, surface coating agent,
wet additive and adhesive in corrugated paper
4. Application in textile industry, used as sizing agent in yarm, veil
